Garret is a dynamic saxophonist from southeast Michigan with a passion for solo and chamber music performance. A prize-winning saxophonist, he has performed at the United States Navy Band Symposium, the BGSU New Music Festival, and the North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Saxophone Conference. Most recently, he was featured in New Music On The Point’s 10th Anniversary Commissioning Project, where he performed on their first virtually streamed concert. Garret has also worked with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s Civic Youth Ensembles as a woodwind mentor, been a quartet coach at the Assembly Saxophone Quartet Workshop, and continues to work as a saxophone instructor at both L’Anse Creuse High School and Dakota High School. He holds a Master’s degree from Bowling Green State University and a Bachelor’s degree from Oakland University. After graduating from BGSU, Garret is currently working with the College of Musical Arts as an Undergraduate Music Admissions Assistant in addition to his musical endeavors.
